My interpretation of classical paintings. I have a passion for antiquity and I am very nostalgic. That's why I like to work from my love for painting. I give them a contemporary look and embrace the classical style.
The young Van Dyck presents himself as an aristocrat, without any signs of his trade, such as a palette and brushes. This self-portrait probably dates from the artist's stay at the English court, an experience that has had a lasting impact on his art and self-presentation. Shortly afterwards Van Dyck travelled to Italy, where his fondness for beautiful clothes and aristocratic manners aroused both admiration and contempt among fellow artists.
Illustrator and specialist painter
I work very realistically and get inspiration from the everyday for my work. I combine a touch of fantasy with observation. Because of my painting background I have a love for imitation and precision. I start from my own perspective and I find it important to incorporate my interests in my illustrations. Not afraid to get my hands dirty, and a neat worker!
