My interpretation of classical paintings. I have a passion for antiquity and I am very nostalgic. That's why I like to work from my love for painting. I give them a contemporary look and embrace the classical style.
Original by Philip de László. Portrait of Winifred Cavendish-Bentinck, Duchess of Portland by Philip de László, 1912. She was a British humanitarian and animal welfare activist. She served as a barber to HM Queen Alexandra at the coronation of King Edward VII in 1902, and was Mistress of the Robes from 1913 until the death of Queen Alexandra in 1925. The Duchess of Portland was a passionate animal lover, who used the stables for old horses and ponies, as well as dogs in need of a home. In 1891 she became the first (and longest serving) president of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds and was the vice president of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. She was also chairman of the women's committee of the RSPCA.
Illustrator and specialist painter
I work very realistically and get inspiration from the everyday for my work. I combine a touch of fantasy with observation. Because of my painting background I have a love for imitation and precision. I start from my own perspective and I find it important to incorporate my interests in my illustrations. Not afraid to get my hands dirty, and a neat worker!
