Gosh I had fun creating this one! My favorite color, purple, with pink and gold on a black background. What's not to like?
This is actually one of two paintings I created using an acrylic mirror dip technique, a gorgeous combination of purple and pink with golden highlights of other colors. A pleasing, creative design that provides a pop of color.
Color selection, application and technique is the key with this sort of painting and is the real skill involved. An acrylic pour leaves an exciting element of chance as you are never quite sure how the final thing will come out. Sure, I start with an idea of what I am hoping to create but until the last minute it can be a guessing game how the paints and additives will react with one another.
Obviously you can work with what appears and develop it further. But that wasn't necessary with this piece, I just loved it from the start!
