Nadal first led the ATP rankings on 18 August 2008. He managed to finish five seasons as No 1: 2008, 2010, 2013, 2017 and 2019. He was among the top two for a record number of weeks and among the top 10 for a record number of consecutive weeks, and his title at the 2010 US Open made him the seventh player in history, and the youngest in the Open era, to win the Career Slam. At the Australian Open 2022, he won his 21st grandslam title, making him only record holder. Before that, he shared the record with Roger Federer and, since 2021, also with Novak Djokovic. This title made him the second player in the open era and fourth overall with a double Career Slam. He won two gold medals at the Summer Olympics - in singles in 2008 and in doubles in 2016 - and conquered the Davis Cup five times with the Spanish team. He also won 36 Masters 1000 titles. Nadal won Roland Garros for the 14th time in 2022, bringing his total number of grand slam titles to twenty-two and extending his lead until Djokovic matched him again in 2023.
