Unique sustainable portrait of Robert Baggio (Italian soccer team) handmade with paint residue on waste wood
Roberto Baggio (Caldogno, Feb. 18, 1967) is an Italian former professional footballer who usually played as a striker. In 2011 he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of Italian soccer for his achievements.
Baggio's professional career began in the early 1980s at Lanerossi Vicenza, where he was discovered by AC Fiorentina. Baggio played some five seasons in Florence until he was bought by Juventus in 1990 for fourteen million euros. With this he became the national champion twice and won the national cup once. He also won the UEFA Cup with Juventus in 1993. That same year, Baggio was voted World Footballer and European Player of the Year. In 1994, he won silver at the World Cup in the United States. In the final, he shot the decisive penalty kick in the penalty kick sequence over the goal, making Brazil world champions. He played a total of 55 international games for Italy, in which he scored 27 goals.
After his time at Juventus, he went on to AC Milan, Inter Milan, Bologna and Brescia. At Brescia he stopped playing soccer in the 2003/04 season. He played a total of 488 duels and scored 216 goals. He played his entire career in Serie A.
Baggio usually played with jersey number 10. During his time with AC Milan, he had number 18 because 10 was already occupied. After he quit, Brescia took the number 10 out of rotation as a tribute.
As a nickname, he had Il Divin Codino, or The Divine Ponytail.
Unique, affordable and personalized art, portraits and gifts on preferably old, used or discarded wood.
We are Gerhard van Dijkhuizen and Colet Scheper. Together we came up with the concept hou2use. Based on a photo we invent, design and create unique, personal and affordable art on wood. We strongly believe in sustainability and therefore we prefer to make portraits of people or (domestic) animals on used or discarded wood.
We love most art on commission. We then conceive and create, together with you and especially for you, a custom-made work of art or portrait on wood.
Thanks to our special collaboration with Werk aan de Muur, you can also reproduce our unique work in virtually any format and on virtually any material!
