In the paw prints of the Scottish Highlanders in the Reestdal, water has ended up. The water's frozen. This results in beautiful abstract ice structures. With a little imagination, there's a lot to see in it. I see a little dog in it myself.
Karla Leeftink prefers to photograph in the peace and quiet of early mornings with a hint of mysterious mist. The Drentsche-Aa region and the Reest valley are ideal for this with their frequently occurring misty landscapes. She also likes the wide open Wadden Sea landscapes and rough Norwegian fjord landscapes. Standing under the stars she is in her element and impressed by creation. In a frozen puddle and on knots of trees she spontaneously sees abstract works of art before her.
At her nature presentations she enthusiastically shares her nature experiences and lets others enjoy them with the help of her photo and video material. She has set up a line of cards with about a hundred cards, in which she has incorporated her own photos. She contributes photos to magazines and is author of the book "Reeën het jaar rond ".
