A staged work in warm tones tells a story at the dinner table. We see a dolled up lady in a black dress at the table with a black cat on the other side. The story is up to you, the viewer, to invent so that anyone viewing this work can see their own version.
With this and other staged works in my shop, I was inspired by the work of Dutch photographer Erwin Olaf.

In my style of work I like to use contrasts that can be discovered in the lighting, the subjects or in the color palette. I also like to use the color red somewhere in a work so that this color recurs as a thread in my works. Sometimes as a small accent or sometimes in a real leading role like the many works with red dresses.
My work exists at the intersection of modern Pop Art and Expressionism, with influences from Modernism. Contrast, whether in light, color, or subject, plays a central role in my art. The color red is often prominently featured.
