The five Buddhist precepts form a code of conduct to follow that helps ordinary people (lay people) to behave in a moral and ethical way. These are not easy to carry out requiring a lot of practice and considerable self-discipline before they start to come naturally. They definitely get easier as an individual practices them. Buddhists are encouraged to consider these five precepts every day and commit to follow them during their daily activities. The Precepts are commitments to abstain from harming living things (and yes this includes mosquitoes!), stealing, sexual misconduct, lying or gossip and taking intoxicating substances like drugs and alcohol. These are the basic core of Buddhist morality and are certainly something to strive for. Here I have broken them down to a series of simple phrases that everyone can understand.
Born in the South of England I now live half way up a mountain in Umbria, Italy. I work from my art studio looking out over fabulous views of the Italian countryside. I am so happy to share my artwork with you.
An artist and blogger, I specialize in photo art and acrylic painting. For my photo art, I start with my own photographs and work on them digitally to capture the feeling I want to convey with the final image. For my abstract work, I literally 'go with the flow' and follow where my heart wants to take me as I work.
I create art to make your heart smile, capturing the spirit of place in towns and villages, or creating art to enhance the energy of your home or workplace. Take your time to look through my portfolio, I hope you enjoy it.
