All over Rotterdam, nicknamed Manhattan upon Maas, skyscrapers are popping up. All over Rotterdam? No, a small village bravely resists the large-scale behemoths. This former Heliport site was built in the late seventies to a design by architect Jan Verhoeven and is popularly known as Little Volendam or the Gnome Village.
This image is based on a photograph, which was transformed into an impressionistic digital painting using textures, filters and other effects.
My work can be found in the border regions of photography, painting and computer visuals. With my company 3Develop I do work in commission but I use the same techniques, skills and software to make free work.
