De Hef is an iconic 1927 railroad bridge in Rotterdam, which has been out of use since 1993, but is perfectly deserving of monument status. Together with the adjacent Koninginne bridge, the Hef spans the Koningshaven.
In early 2022, there was some commotion in Rotterdam when it was announced that the movable middle part of the Hef would have to be removed for a while to allow a very expensive yacht owned by billionaire Jeff Bezos to pass. But, of course, Mr. Bezos pays for that himself.
In the background, we can also see a piece of another famous Rotterdam bridge: the Willemsbrug.
