About "The Oldsmobile Special 66 Station Wagon From 1948 to 1956"

About the artwork

The Oldsmobile Special 66 Station Wagon was a classic automobile made between 1948 and 1956. The first one was built in 1928 and had a wheelbase of 118 inches. It had a four-speed manual transmission and was powered by a two-liter, eight-cylinder engine. Standard equipment included a safety glass, cigarette lighter, and dual horns. The woodwork was impeccable, and it had a rumble seat with leather upholstery.

The second series was the Dynamic 66 and 68, which were renamed in 1948. These were the smallest cars from Oldsmobile and offered both six- and eight-cylinder engines. The 68 was the last model to feature suicide doors. The deluxe equipment package added features such as a clock and foam rubber seat cushions, and chrome wheel trim rings. The interior was upholstered in Bedford cord and broadcloth.

The Dynamic 66 and 68 were the last series of Oldsmobile cars before the company went under in 1949. The Dynamic 60 series had the largest selection of body styles, but the 66 and 68 were the smallest of the Dynamic line. The 66 and 68 were equipped with six-cylinder and eight-cylinder engines and had a variety of trim packages. The deluxe equipment package also included a clock and foam rubber seat cushions. The wheels and tires were six-inch wide and chrome wheel trim rings. The upholstery was either broadcloth or Bedford cord.
