The Storr is a rocky hill, formed by a landslide, on the Trotternish peninsula of the island of Skye. The Storr shows itself as a steep rock face, facing east, above the Sound of Raasay. The steep wall contrasts with the gentle slopes of the landscape on its western side. Another landslide in the area is Quiraing.
Geology
The Storr is a highlight in the landscape of Skye and Britain's longest landslide. The area in front of the steep wall is called the Sanctuary. It consists of a number of rock pillars of unusual shape, remains of ancient landslides. One of the most famous is the Old Man of Storr.
Normally I take photo's of (large) objects for customers, but another big passion is photographing beautiful landscapes. Anything beautiful might be something I would capture in my frame.
