The beauty of autumn, the metamorphosis

In autumn, the leaves fall from the trees. The metamorphosis of nature. A necessary one. Nature is getting ready for winter. As the sap flows from the trees back to the trunk, the branches lose their leaves. The branches let go, to survive themselves, so they will not freeze in the winter cold. In spring, the leaves will blossom again and the tree will be stronger than ever.

Autumn is a wonderful symbolism for the theme of letting go. Letting go in order to survive. Letting go in order to move on by yourself. Letting go in order to become stronger. Letting go and seeing the beauty of what letting go can mean for you.

In times of chaos, a beautiful autumn forest brings me intense peace. The colors are beautiful, with red, golden yellow, brown and ochre leaves. The leaves feel nice under my feet, and the wind makes everything dance. Even the rain can feel wonderful, when I dare to give myself over to it. All worries flow off me. I breathe in the peace and calm. And come to rest.

I love everything that has to do with art, culture and creativity. Experiencing, creating, teaching and communicating. Through language, image, non-verbal and through the musical voice.

I became known for my commissioned ink portraits. My work was first shown to a large audience in the program VTWonen Weer verliefd op je huis (February 2021). I make many ink portraits of and for individuals; from pregnancy portraits, wedding portraits, child portraits, love portraits and family portraits to portraits of pets such as dogs, cats, horses and birds. These ink portraits are all handmade by the way, drawn and painted with east indian ink on watercolor paper.

In my shop at work on the wall you can order my Digital Art. Because I normally work almost exclusively on commission, my autonomous art via Digital Art is really a wonderful experimental outlet. This also means that I keep experimenting with painting techniques and collage techniques using Photoshop. Although I love to experiment, quality comes first
