I took this picture at the Vischmarkt in Harderwijk, you can see in the picture the characteristic Vischpoort of Harderwijk. As you can see it was already dark when I took this picture, it does give a different atmosphere to the square. I chose to photograph the Vischpoort from a different angle, so you can also see a piece of the city wall and a few houses. This viewpoint is not often used by photographers and other artists who capture this gate. As you can see, the lamp in the light house on the gate is also lit. In the background you can also see a piece of the Sheep, a street that goes from the fish market along the city wall. Personally, I do think it's a shame that there are yellow lights shining against the city wall like the Vischpoort, I would have just as preferred white lights. You can see in this picture the atmosphere of the Vischmarkt, it is something I like. On the left of the photo you can see one of the trees on the square. To take this picture I used a long shutter speed and of course a tripod to put my camera on. When I took this picture it was still autumn even though you don't see leaves on the tree anymore.
Welcome to my shop. My name is Gerard de Zwaan and I was born in 1983 in the Veluwe town of Harderwijk, where I still live. I started photography in 2013. My first camera was a Nikon D3200 which I still own, currently I use a Nikon D7200. Every now and then I also use 1 or 2 Nikon SB700 reportage flash units to highlight a subject. From the beginning I mainly do nature photography, it is mainly landscapes I photograph, the Veluwe woods around Harderwijk being a perfect starting point for this. Occasionally I do macro photography and sometimes I photograph wildlife. Occasionally, I also do portraits of people, which can be commissioned or free work.
