Lennart Verheuvel Profile picture The whale shark is the largest fish in the world and therefore immediately impressive. The encounter with this nine-meter long specimen was therefore very impressive. In Mexico I jumped overboard to photograph this huge fish. Fortunately, it swam right in front of me, which made for a nice photo. I had put a lot of effort into this so I was very happy with it! Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2023 (#WPY59). All my pictures were taken in the wild, so nothing from the zoo! I have been photographing since I was twelve years old and the focus has always been on nature photography. In the Netherlands I mainly look at birds, but abroad mammals also have my interest.
