In America between La Cruces and Alamagordo on the Hwy 70 is White Sands National Monument, New Mexico State.
Millions of years ago this was the Permian Sea. Because of the constant changing amount of water in this sea, the gypsum and sand minerals were deposited.
Years later, after the sea had long disappeared, the earth began to move. Tectonic plates began to shift, exposing the thick crust of white gypsum and sand that formed the dunes.
Now you can visit this white landscape it is really a must.
