This female Wild Duck (Anas platyrhynchos) moves on a patch of ice. I took this photo in February 2021 when blizzard Darcy passed over the Netherlands. It was exceptionally cold that day. The photo was taken at the Elfhoevenplas in the Reeuwijkse Plassen area in Reeuwijk. The Wild Duck is one of the most common Duck species in the Netherlands. It is hard to find food in this cold period. In this photo, you can also see the texture of the ice reflected very nicely. As common as this bird is, they are all different again. One Wild Duck looks different from another Wild Duck. Thus, every duck is unique in appearance. It doesn't matter what a duck looks like. It is still a duck. Thus, we should not worry about how we look or how someone else looks. Everyone is unique. That is what I want to impart.
