Finding the dead owl and studying its plumage was the impetus for a new themed sketchbook, in which feathers and wings play the leading role. Painted/drawn in mixed media with bistre, watercolor pencil, watercolor crayon, charcoal and old book pages. Part of the drawing is embroidered on the paper with beautiful linen thread. From up close it is so nice to enjoy all the structures!
For my drawings and paintings I wander through nature with my camera and sketchbook, looking for inspiration. Along the way I take pictures; not only from my passion for photography, but also as reference material for my art. At Werk aan de Muur you'll find a selection of my photos, made in places like the Amsterdam Water Supply Dunes, the Veluwe and at the beach. I hope you enjoy all the beauty of nature as much as I do.
