The Pegnitz is a river in Franconia, which joins the left Rednitz in Fürth to form the Regnitz after an almost 113 km long, south-western course. On the flow path with its longer and also more water-rich upper course Fichtenohe, it is over 128 km long. The river name Pegnitz goes back to the name "Paginza" from 889 and is seen as a derivation with an -nt suffix to Indo-Germanic bhog- = flowing water. In 1119, when the town of Pegnitz was first mentioned in documents, it is found as "Begenze" and in 1196 as "Begnitz", before the present name was mentioned in 1329. In Franconia it is also often called "Bengertz".
Amateur photographer with advanced knowledge, retired for 6 years. Made my first experiences with photography as an employee at CANON and now, after many stations, take photos digitally with the Pentax K1 MK II and various lenses. My main focus is difficult to define. Actually everything that comes in front of my lens and doesn't look like a snapshot. I always try to tell a little story with my pictures or at least to get the viewer's imagination going.
