Herikhuizerveld (Posbank) and herd of sheep
The Posbank is a monumental bank and an adjacent tea house on the southern Veluwe near Rheden in the Dutch province of Gelderland. The Posbank is popularly also the name for the hilly heathland area in which it is located, but this area is actually called the Herikhuizerveld. The Herikhuizerveld is a hilly moorland that is part of the Veluwezoom National Park in the municipality of Rheden in the Dutch province of Gelderland. The field is named after the nearby former Herikhuizen farm. The area is also called the Posbank, after the monument that stands on a hill on the northeast side of the Herikhuizerveld. The Herikhuizerveld is grazed by Icelandic ponies and Veluwe heath sheep. The sheepfold of the latter is located on the adjacent Heuven estate. Boar and deer are also found in the area. The sheep, ponies and other animals ensure that the Herikhuizer heath does not overgrow with their grazing.
