Iceland - Photos

I've been to Iceland four times so far: in the summers of 2005 and 2008 and the winters of 2012 and 2019. There is probably no place on Earth as photogenic as this large island on the geological boundary of Europe and North. -America. Here nature is in charge. The country is being formed as we speak. Water spouts from geysers or bubbles into boiling mud pools. Volcanic eruptions are a regular occurrence. Because the landscape is so new, rivers flow over spectacular waterfalls on their way to the sea. Fjords cut deep inland, glaciers cover a good part of the country. And all that beauty is under different lighting conditions every minute, due to permanently changing weather conditions. Humans play a minor role in the story, although the colorful houses and boats of the Icelanders certainly contribute to the overall picture.
