About ‘A track in a riverbed, Namibia’ by Tobias van Krieken

The riverbeds in Namibia's north-west are an absolute playground for travellers looking to go off the beaten track.

It takes some time AND perseverance to traverse and discover the riverbeds, but if you go for it, beautiful sunrises and sunsets are guaranteed, you might just come face to face with elephants, giraffes, hyenas or other wild animals, you can drive your car through rivers or, alternatively, through the soft sand, and you are in one of the quietest environments on earth.

On this beautiful morning, we set off from our camping spot in the middle of the riverbed. The soft light shone on the fine sand, the narrow river - not visible in the picture - slowly began to warm up and the baboons let us know that they too were awake. A beautiful morning, and one never to be forgotten.

And this picture? That one is there to remind you of the adventure you can have when you travel, anywhere in the world.
