The work 'Old colourful layers' is an abstract work that deals with the process of getting older and the associated changes and experiences. The work is made up of colourful layers that have now become somewhat weathered, symbolising the changes we go through as we age. Over the years, our bodies and minds change, and these changes are depicted in the work through the different layers and structures. The smooth and sleek give way to more depth and experience, and these changes are reflected in the work. The work shows that getting older can also be an enrichment, despite being accompanied by changes and sometimes loss. It is an enrichment of our lives that gives us more depth and experience, but at the same time it is also an impoverishment of our being young. The work invites reflection and makes the viewer think about their own process of getting older and the changes that come with it.
