About ‘Polar landscape’ by Jan van der Knaap

A winter polar landscape. Are those houses or temples in the distance? And is that a power station on the lower left? In reality this is a roof of my housing complex, with ten centimetres of snow on top of it and with several exhausts of heating plants inside (these are called cowls) protruding from it.
