About ‘The Wierden Field II’ by Anneke Hooijer

The Wierdense Veld consists of peat landscape. The area, is 420 hectares in size, is one of the few remaining places in the Netherlands where living raised bog still exists. It has been given Natura 2000 status. Sometimes you can spot cranes and various birds of prey here. There are small solitary trees everywhere.
