About "Water ripples over rocks I"

About the artwork

Water rippling over rocks is the inspiration for this painting. It could be the water of a lake or the sea; or in Japanese gardens, a waterfall and pond.

Here, a modern interpretation of the Japanese sumi-e style using coloured ink is applied. Originally, sumi-e is painted with black ink only, ranging from pure black to the lightest grey by mixing the ink with water.

Sumi-e is about simplicity and spontaneity, any unnecessary detail is omitted. This method of painting was introduced in Japan by Zen monks and quickly became a success because in this painting method, as in Zen, reality is reduced to its pure, naked form. No retouching or embellishments. We strive to capture the essence so that we can penetrate to the core of reality.

In gardens, a water feature symbolises the flow of life. The spring symbolises birth and childhood, the force of the waterfall for man's strength on his life path, the fast-flowing water flowing over dams for the obstacles overcome. The river widening and changing from impetuous to rippling shows the receding of the wildness of youth.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
