A dark rhythm in black and pink

Sweet, but not innocent. This gothic anime portrait plays on the line between tenderness and unease. The large eyes and pale pink hair draw you in, whilst the dark styling and piercing gaze evoke something sinister. A little strange. Exactly as intended.

This piece stems from my love of gothic and anime, particularly their darker sides. The black-and-pink hair, divided into two high ponytails, gives the character a striking silhouette. The delicate, almost sketched hair lines emphasise her stylised, doll-like appearance. The large headphones suggest a world of her own, cut off from everything outside.

A black collar with metal details and tattoo-like symbols on her neck lend the portrait a distinctive, dark character. Black, anthracite and pale pink define the colour palette, with deep pink lips providing a striking accent.

The expansive grey background is a key element of the composition. The empty space on the left makes the figure on the right stand out even more and reinforces the alienating atmosphere. In the landscape 4:3 format, this contrast is given plenty of room to shine.

This is art for lovers of dark anime, gothic styles and unusual portraits. A striking centrepiece for an alternative interior, music room or creative workspace. Not designed to blend in everywhere, but to create a unique atmosphere. Exclusively available via Werk aan de Muur. Digital art by Karina Brouwer (KRAB), Delft, the Netherlands.
