A solitary Scots pine on heathland

About this work:
On the Ermelosche Heide, between Ermelo and Putten in the Veluwe, this striking Scots pine has stood for decades as a silent sentinel over the purple heathland. The setting sun colours the flowering heather a deep pink and casts golden highlights across the tree’s broad, characteristic crown. Scattered clouds against a blue sky lend the photograph extra depth and dynamism. This image captures the tranquillity and timelessness of the Dutch heath at its most beautiful. A striking focal point for anyone wishing to bring nature, tranquillity and the atmosphere of the Veluwe into their home, whether as a canvas, ArtFrame or photo print above the sofa or in the bedroom.

About Jeroen Berendse:
In my day job, I’m a marketer. That means listening carefully to and observing customers, and using that knowledge to devise relevant solutions. As a photographer, I actually do the same thing, with the difference that I mainly listen closely to myself.

Photography is a way of telling a story. Captured in the perfect still image. A good photograph takes you in your mind’s eye to a special place in the world, an event that makes you smile or sets your creative mind to work. And because this is such a personal experience, the same photograph evokes a unique experience and feeling in everyone – both the photographer and the viewer.

My portfolio features photographs of a wide variety of subjects. You can find my full portfolio in my shop at Werk aan de Muur and on my website www.jeroenberendse.nl.
