About the artwork
A woman and her candlelight, that is, she stands in the light of a candle, a big candle. That candle stands in front of a stained-glass window. Maybe it is a church window or just a window of an old house. In any case, the candle illuminates the whole room. The lady is wearing a big hat. The decor action on the hat makes you think it's Halloween, which is of course true. Because of the big hat, her face cannot be seen. She herself stands half in shadow and is lit from the front by the candlelight. There are more things that point to Halloween like the spider web in the top left corner, the skull she holds in her hand and, of course, the big raven sitting on that skull. Something seems to be exploding, perhaps caused by the big hand seen behind the window. In short this is a creepy photo that tells quite a story with the slightly cooler colours associated with Halloween, namely green, yellow, brown, black and white.
