BMW R 1250 RS Touring the Golden Coast

When I painted this scene, I wanted to hold on to a feeling I know well: the quiet freedom of a long road at day's end. A lone rider guides a blue and silver BMW R 1250 RS along a coastal highway, where the asphalt bends between rolling hills and a steep cliffside falling toward the ocean.

The setting sun became my main source of inspiration. I let its golden light spill across the rider's helmet and leather jacket, the boxer engine, and the gold front forks, while cooler blues and greys settle into the shadows. That contrast between warm and cool mirrors what I feel on every journey, the tension between motion and stillness, between machine and wild landscape.

I chose thick, impressionistic brushstrokes, a style that captures light and movement rather than sharp detail. The smooth fairing carries visible texture, so the bike feels part of the land, not apart from it.

To me, touring is a kind of conversation with the world. The road shows you where you are, but the horizon asks where you want to go. I hope this painting invites you to feel that same sense of adventure, and to remember a road of your own.
