About ‘Beachroad’ by Lex Schulte

A wooden road leads over the dunes to the beach at Nieuwvliet-Bad. In the distance you can already see the North Sea, a white sailboat passes. The almost ideal beach picture; a radiant air, the warmth of the dunes and a boat that sails by languidly.
This photo is made in Nieuwvliet-Bad, Zeeland. Nieuwvliet-Bad is an area in the municipality of Sluis, in the Dutch province of Zeeland. Nieuwvliet-Bad, in the Zeeuws-Vlaanderen region, is the collective name for the bungalow parks, recreational areas and campsites on the West-Zeeland coast near Nieuwvliet. The wide sandy beach is the main reason for the strong tourist activities. On the beach the Central Station of the lifeguard of West-Zeeuws-Vlaanderen is situated. In Nieuwvliet-Bad there is also the salt marsh and swallow area of the Verdronken Zwarte Polder.
