Canvas

A classic and timeless material

Art on canvas does well on any wall. It comes into its own in paintings with sharp brushstrokes.

The optional floater frame gives your canvas artwork even more character and depth.

Fine-art print quality

Canvas paintings and photographic art on canvas from Art Heroes are printed on white polycotton canvas.

Frame made of sustainable wood

With PEFC approved wood.

Durability of minimum 10 years

To ensure durability for at least 10 years, the canvas is folded over each other. This creates a slight thickening and ensures a very long lifespan.

Protected with a layer of varnish

Protected against discolouration by the sun, water and light scratches.

Thicknesses

2 cm thickness

The side of the canvas has the regular thickness of 2 centimetres.

4,5 cm thickness

The sides of the canvas are extra thick, and have a thickness of 4.5 centimetres.

If you have a question about thicknesses and finishes, view the frequently asked questions

By this we mean the side of the canvas. You can think of a canvas as a cloth folded around a wooden frame. As a result, part of the work can also be seen on the side. You decide what you want to see on the side of your canvas:

  • Faded sides: the colours of the work appear faded on the side.
  • Mirrored sides: the work is mirrored on the sides.
  • Folded sides: the image continues over the sides of the canvas.

Type of cover to canvas. From left to right: faded, mirrored and folded.

The canvas prints are tightly stretched on PEFC-approved wood. High-quality wood that does not deform under pressure. You can choose the thickness of this wood yourself. Choose a wood thickness of 2 or 4,5 cm.

On large formats, the 4,5 cm thick variant looks more robust. If you hang a 4,5 cm thick canvas in a place where you walk right past it, a narrow hall or close to it, choose the 2 cm thick variant.

By the way, it does not mean that 4,5 cm thick is sturdier. Both thicknesses do not warp, so mainly choose the one you like best!

The canvas has a matt finish.

How to hang canvas on your wall

The hanging system

The canvas comes with a hanging system. You will find the metal hanging system on the back of the canvas. You place the hanging system on a screw or nail, on the ribbed edge.

Canvas comes with a hanging system already affixed. The metal fixture can be easily hung from a screw or nail. You place the hanging system on top of a screw or nail, on the ribbed edge. For works under 1 metre, there is a single fixture, for works larger than 1 metre, there are two.

Have you ordered a canvas with a floater frame? The hanging system works identically.

A canvas with a tray frame in the size 250x140 cm weighs about 10 kg.

Canvas itself has no acoustic function. It does have a slightly absorbent function, like a rug, for example.

Are you looking for a material that can optimally help improve acoustics? Then check out art frame.

Pigmented inks can give a colour fastness of 100 years or more. In addition, a giclée on canvas is manually coated with several layers of transparent varnish. The advantage of varnishing is that the colours stand out beautifully and the canvas is extra protected against UV light, becomes more scratch-resistant and can be cleaned if, for example, it gets dusty.

The canvas prints are also tightly stretched on PEFC-approved wood. High-quality wood that does not deform under pressure. As a result, it does not warp and our canvases always hang tight against the wall.

No, the canvas is delivered ready-made. It is manually assembled by our craftsmen. All you have to do is unpack the package and give it a nice spot on the wall.
