Cherry Red Ducati 851 in Motion

When I began this painting, I wanted to hold onto something that keeps slipping away: the pure sensation of speed. The cherry-red Ducati 851 sits at the heart of the canvas, glossy and alive, angled as if it might leap forward at any breath. I built its bodywork with thick impasto strokes, letting the oil catch the light on the fuel tank and fairing the way sunlight catches chrome on a summer road.

Around the machine, I dissolved the racetrack into sweeping circles of grey, blue, and warm ochre. Those blurred arcs are my way of painting movement into stillness. The bike stands quiet, yet everything around it spins.

I lingered over the small truths that make this superbike sing: the gold brake rotors, the silver exhaust reaching upward, the white frame glimpsed beneath the tank. Each detail carries the weight of Italian motorsport heritage, a story of engineers and riders chasing the horizon.

For me, this work is about longing and freedom. We all carry a desire to move faster, to feel more fully. I hope you feel that pulse when you stand before it, and remember your own moments of fearless motion.
