City Panorama Printed Circuit Board

The ‘Circuit Board City Panorama’ painting constructs an entire miniature city from components you would normally only find on a circuit board, complete with skyscrapers built from microchips and conductor tracks. The buildings glow from within in shades of green and blue, like rows of illuminated office windows in a night-time skyline, whilst an amber-coloured motorway cuts diagonally through the centre. That road itself consists of a dual carriageway, with trails of light mimicking the night-time traffic of '. Scattered around the high-rise are smaller, green-glowing building blocks, like a neighbourhood of low-rise houses on the outskirts of the city.

That contrast between the cool green-blue of the buildings and the warm orange of the road creates a vibrant, balanced colour scheme. It is precisely this thoughtful choice of colours, together with the ingenious idea of constructing a city entirely from electronics, that makes this an original piece which is sure to spark conversation in any room. The closer you get to the screen, the more clearly the individual components – screws, chips, conductors – reveal themselves as architectural elements.

The miniature appearance is reminiscent of a scale model or a film set, where each little building has been carefully placed within a larger whole. That sense of playfulness is enhanced by the way depth and focus are used: the centre of the city is razor-sharp, whilst the edges fade gently, just like a real scale model. The result is a world that feels both highly technical and incredibly imaginative.

This playful take on an electronic metropolis brings a sense of light-heartedness to a setting where technology and creativity converge. The scene is available on various materials and in a range of formats, whether you opt for a subtle detail or a large, striking centrepiece.
