Cloud Mirror – Lofoten, Norway

On a glorious day in the Lofoten Islands, I was driving around aimlessly and stumbled upon this spot by chance. The light, the clouds and the snow-capped mountains reflected in the still water, together with the little cottages along the coast, make up the whole scene for me. ‘Cloud Mirror’ is a wide, tranquil landscape in cool shades of teal and white set against dark, mirror-smooth water. A small rocky island with a warm accent of light provides a focal point for the image, whilst the cottages in the distance give a sense of scale. From a distance, you see a single calm, spacious composition. Up close, you discover the texture of the clouds, the snow on the peaks and the gentle ripples in the water.

This Norwegian landscape looks great above a sofa or bed, in an office, surgery or hotel lobby. Thanks to its wide aspect ratio (16:9), it really comes into its own on a wall with plenty of space. The cool colours combine beautifully with light wood, stone and neutral walls, creating a peaceful atmosphere in the living room, bedroom or office.

A lovely choice for lovers of Norway, the Lofoten Islands and sweeping landscapes.
