Drops sculpture

The ‘Drops’ sculpture features two teardrop-shaped forms placed side by side and partially in front of one another, each with an oval opening in the centre. The left-hand form has a glossy terracotta colour with bright reflections of light along its rounded edges, whilst the right-hand form is taller and has a soft, matt cream colour. The two forms overlap subtly, so that the openings seem to look through one another, as it were. The warm beige background and the soft shadow beneath it lend the piece a calm, balanced atmosphere. The contrast between glossy and matt enhances the sense of depth and makes the flowing lines particularly striking. The piece as a whole exudes a modern, artisanal elegance.

Earthy terracotta and soft cream form a warm and harmonious duo that gives this artwork a calm, natural look which fits in well with contemporary trends. The organic teardrop shape stems from twentieth-century modern ceramic design, in which soft, clean lines and the interplay between emptiness and volume take centre stage.

Hanging on the wall above a sofa, sideboard or dining table, this artwork adds a soft, modern touch to a light-filled living room or bedroom, and is available in various materials and sizes.
