At first glance, this Dutch flag appears to have a somewhat playful, irregular transition between the red, white, and blue stripes. A closer look reveals that this playfulness is caused by the fact that the flag is made up of a large number of hearts, of various sizes. A rather literal interpretation of the "I love Holland" theme.
In fact, the name is not quite correct, as this tricolour is not the flag of the region of Holland but of the Netherlands as a whole. Residents of the other ten provinces often have reservations about it, and rightly so, but the name Holland is often used abroad as a synonym for the Netherlands.
Anyway, a nice work to hang on the wall and wait and see when visitors see them, those hearts.
