Kingfisher - Winter Lunch

Tough times for this little kingfisher; much of the water is frozen and there’s even been a substantial amount of snow – by Dutch standards. By putting a few extra fish in a small pond, I’m helping her get through the winter, in exchange for some lovely photographs.

Thirty years of passion, growth, deepening understanding, perseverance and wonder — captured in a single flap of the wings.

I hope that when choosing a work of art for your wall, you make a well-considered decision. Nowadays, we are increasingly seeing works created using artificial intelligence and other digital techniques. Unfortunately, these are easily accessible to everyone, including those without an artistic background. As a result, artists who work with traditional techniques, such as painting or photography, are under pressure.

Ironically, their work and vision often form the basis for the visual material used to train AI. This creates an unfair competitive environment, in which craftsmanship and originality are at risk of losing out to speed and convenience. Hopefully, this development will not come at the expense of our appreciation for authentic, traditional art forms.

By choosing genuine artwork for your wall, you are supporting real artists.
