Meditative Buddha in Color Washes

A calm close up of the buddha’s face emerges from soft washes of color that drift across the paper like mist. Eyes closed and lips gently curved, the expression suggests a quiet moment between breaths. Deep violets and blues pool around the lower half of the face while warmer notes of amber and sienna glow along the forehead and cheek, creating a natural balance between shadow and light. The white background stays open and clean so the silhouette remains strong, even at large print sizes.

This artwork grew from the idea of stepping back from noise and letting thoughts dissolve. Loose dripping edges fall toward the bottom of the sheet, echoing the release of tension, while more defined strokes hold the nose, mouth and eyelids in clear focus. Layered washes, light glazing and a few sharper lines along the features keep the mood peaceful but not static. On a wall, the piece works as a meditative focal point for bedrooms, yoga spaces or reading corners, bringing a sense of quiet presence and radiant color to the room.
