Modern hourglass sculpture

This modern hourglass sculpture features a slender, twisted object in the shape of an hourglass, crafted in glossy black and polished silver. The two colours blend into one another in an elegant spiral, so that the narrow waist in the centre almost resembles a coiled ribbon. A focused beam of light falls onto the floor, causing the metal surface to glow brightly in places, whilst the dark brown background lends the scene a calm, theatrical depth. The smooth, mirror-like finish creates subtle reflections that make the object feel almost alive. The tall, straight form gives the piece a stately, timeless appearance.

The interplay of deep black and gleaming silver, enhanced by a dramatic contrast of light, makes this artwork a refined and contemporary object that captures the eye.

The hourglass has traditionally been a symbol of the passing of time, and this modern, twisted interpretation plays on that idea by translating the ancient motif into a sleek, abstract form full of movement.

This piece really comes into its own on a sideboard, in a stylish hallway or a minimalist living room, and the artwork is available in various materials and sizes.
