About ‘Motifs from Mauritius’ by Nop Briex

The Dodo, Sea Swallow (Stern), pineapple, hibiscus and other subtropical flora and fauna characterise the beautiful island republic of Mauritius. I visited the country in 2005 and 2007. Particularly impressed by the friendly people, nature, sugar cane plantations and beaches, Mauritius, which is not even bigger than Limburg, is well worth a visit.

I created this artwork based on a painting I made myself and hand-cut figurative shapes from white paper, carefully composed and digitally perfected. Besides this green version, there are also yellow, blue and red versions. Nice as an individual artwork but also on the wall to put 2 or more together.
