The aircraft is a Piper L-21B, the military designation for the PA-18 Super Cub. The livery is an exact copy of an aircraft of the Royal Netherlands Air Force that was destroyed in a hangar fire in Seppe in 1982. It has a special permit from the Dutch Ministry of Defence. This aircraft was in military service with the USAAF and the French army. It was then registered for civilian use in Germany. It was given its current livery around 2004. It also underwent a major overhaul in 2004 and is now in perfect condition. The photo was taken during a flight from Donzdorf-Messelberg airfield.
I mainly photograph technical equipment and large machines, as well as the people who work with them. Aircraft are one focus. My aim is to capture sober equipment in an aesthetically pleasing way, with interesting perspectives, exciting compositions and suitable colour schemes.
