Around 1638 the Italian painter Guido Reni (1575 - 1642) made this portrait.
It's probably a portrait of Artemisia (350 BC), a Carian princess, the sister and wife (!) of Mausolus.
The story goes that the dish, dissolved in liquid, contained ashes of Artemisia's deceased Mausolus, whom she loved dearly.
