An autumn still life with fallen leaves in predominantly red and yellow hues, bringing together the beauty and tragedy of autumn. These five-pointed leaves are from an amber tree (liquidambar styraciflua), a tree species that stands quite inconspicuously for much of the year but suddenly turns into a feast of color in the fall.
