About ‘Sunset at sea’ by Lex Schulte

Sunset at Rubjerg Knude Fyr . People are watching the sun sink into the sea. In silhouette , they are seen as the tower that was once the lighthouse Rubjerg Knude . By restoration work is the top of the tower temporarily removed.
Rubjerg Knude Fyr is a lighthouse in Jutland (Denmark). The lighthouse is on the Lønstrup Klint at a height of 60 meters above sea level.
The construction work began in 1899. The lighthouse was inaugurated on December 27, 1900 and again taken out of service on August 1 , 1968. The building remained in use as a museum until 2002 , when it was abandoned due to increasing erosion .
