The Twiskemolen is an eight-sided reed-covered ground-sailer between Landsmeer and Oostzaan in the recreation area Het Twiske. He has a flight of 24.00 meters. The windmill was erected here in 1974, after it had initially stood in Barsingerhorn for the drainage of the Hooglandspolder. The year 1572 and 1974 are therefore mentioned on the beard, although the mill in Barsingerhorn was already known from 1525. The mill was purchased to drain the Polder Oostzaan.
On 18 October 2016, a small tornado hit the stationary mill, destroyed the cap and broke the upper shaft, causing the blade cross to fall down. The heavy, wooden bellows were also blown 100 metres away. In 2017-2018 the cap was restored and new rods were inserted. In the meantime it is possible to grind again at wind power.

Welcome to my shop. I, an Amsterdam born and raised guy with an international mindset (hence the introduction in English), had the choice between offering you a nice catchphrase, or nice photos. I chose the latter. So enjoy, and I hope you will find something from my humble shop that you would love to have on one of your walls.
