About ‘White Stag — First Light Becoming’ by Manuela Dekkers

This work depicts a young white deer in the early morning light, at a moment when the world is still shrouded in silence. The forest is soft and misty, the sun just visible between the trees. Everything in this image exudes a sense of beginning — a transition between night and day, between what was and what is cautiously emerging.

The animal stands still, alert and present. Not fleeing, not hiding, but open in its posture. The white coat and delicate posture emphasise the vulnerability of this moment: new life that does not yet need to know where it is going. The deer embodies pure potential — a state of being in which everything is possible, without any choices having to be made yet.

Within the First Light Kin collection, this work represents the very beginning of awareness. Dawn symbolises a new phase; the young animal represents the inner movement that has not yet taken direction. Together they form an image of quiet courage and trust in the process of becoming.

This artwork invites you to slow down and pay attention. It is intended as a visual reminder of moments when you do not yet have to act, but are allowed to be present with what is unfolding. A tranquil, dreamlike work that brings peace to a space and leaves room for reflection.
