Woman in terracotta and orange thoughts

Stylised female portrait in a geometric composition. The face is composed of tight, rectangular and curved shapes, in which warm earth tones such as terracotta, beige, orange and soft pink dominate. The asymmetry in the facial halves - with the right eye appearing as a dark, closed shape and the other half looking almost abstract - creates a captivating tension between recognition and alienation.

The vertical line in the middle reinforces the sense of dichotomy, as if the work reflects on duality: inner versus outer, light versus shadow. The simple lines and areas of colour give the work a modern feel, while at the same time reminiscent of cubism and art deco. Notable is the small area of dark colour in the upper left, which subtly breaks the balance of the colour scheme and draws the eye to the outer edges.

This work exudes an understated mystery. Despite the abstraction, the portrait's gaze remains central and powerful, almost meditative. A still life of emotions captured in planes and shapes.
