About Ron Buist
Ron Buist is an experienced landscape and nature photographer from the north of the Netherlands. His passion for landscape and nature was sparked early in life. He lived close to a forest and could and in his early years one could find him there quite often. As a schoolboy, he cycled from the village where he lived to the city of Groningen. On his way, he witnessed the flat Dutch landscape and it struck him, that no day was the same.
During his university years and the first years after, nature played a lesser role for a while, until he discovered photography in 2009. His interest in photography started from a technology viewpoint, but it wasn't long before Ron discovered that he could combine this new passion with landscape and nature. It didn't take long before his first impressive landscape photos were created!
The north of the Netherlands is and remains a great source of inspiration for Ron. The vast fields, the endless view towards the horizon and the beautiful Wadden coast: they form the basis for many of Ron's works. Ron manages to "see" the picture in his mind even before it is made. By being in the right place at the right time, he masterfully manages to capture this in an image. The result can often be characterised as "dreamy" and reminiscent of the paintings of the old Dutch masters.
Occasionally, you will also find Ron in other beautiful places. Scotland has managed to win his heart as "home away from home".
