Air touching the sea

Broad, powerful brushstrokes move diagonally across the canvas, suggesting a vast sky above a calm sea. The colour palette consists of cool blue tones, softened with nuances of lilac, soft pink and cream, creating a subtle tension between freshness and warmth. The paint is thick and visibly applied; the texture gives the work a tangible, almost physical dynamism.

The horizon lies low, forming a thin, light strip between sky and water. Below it, the surface reflects the sky in soft, horizontal bands, while above it, the sky seems to swirl in broad, flowing movements. The contrast between the calm sea and the expressive sky creates a sense of space and freedom. Small accents of colour – a hint of pastel pink or an unexpected touch of light yellow – break through the blue and give the whole a poetic light. The composition exudes openness and breathing space. It is not an exact representation of a coastal landscape, but rather an interpretation of air, water and movement. A moment when the world feels both vast and silent.
